The progenitor of the the Big Lie has no doubt watched with paternal pride as his spiritual heir, Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © has become the modern High Priest of Propaganda © . Though The Worst President EVER © has previously admitted that 9.11 had nothing to do with the war in Iraq, that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to spread the self-serving propaganda the war in Iraq is part and parcel the result of 9.11.
The truly disturbing thing about the continued spread of this malicious, dishonest propaganda is that no one in Congress has had the cojones to call “bullshit” onThe Worst President EVER © . When any reasonable, thinking person KNOWS that there is absolutely NO connection between 9.11 and the war in Iraq, why is Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © still given a free pass to spread his lies and propaganda? Why do so many Americans take him at his word? Why does such a large proportion of the American Sheeple continue to believe the canard that we must fight terrorism in the streets of Baghdad so we don’t have to fight them in the streets of Carbondale?
There seems little doubt that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © Excellent Adventure in Iraq will be judged as anything but a failure of epic, massive proportions. With well over 3,000 dead American soldiers, and with nothing resembling “victory” in sight, what successes can be claimed? OK, so Saddam was toppled and executed; this war was supposed to be about terrorism, remember? Here’s the thing about that, though…there was NO TERRORIST THREAT IN IRAQ prior to the American invasion. Yes, The Worst President EVER © and his illegal war created the very terrorist threat we’re now fighting- and losing to. So, four years and 3,000+ dead Americans later, you’d think we’d be able to claim victory…or at least be able to point to the flowering of Iraqi democracy and democratic institutions- the rule of law, religious equality, gender equity, economic opportunity, security…all the things we take for granted. The presence of at least one or two of those things would at least be an indication of something resembling success.
Well, guess what? NONE of those things exist, which makes me want to ask the obvious question: so, if none of those goals have been met, what do we have to show for all those dead American soldiers? As much as I hate to say this, the answer is painfully obvious: NOTHING. More than 3,000 of our sons and daughters have died for no discernible reason. I can think of nothing sadder than having to own up to this tragic reality.
