This week's sign that the Apocalypse is upon us

I never, EVER, though I’d utter these words, but here goes: the Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in baseball. And I’m not talking early April after a game or two are in the books. No, I’m talking about a 22-10 record. I had to check the standings to make sure that the numbers hadn’t been reversed, but they’re indeed correct.

22-10. Man, whodathunkit? St. Louis, maybe. The Yankees, perhaps. The Chicago White Sox, quite possibly. But Milwaukee? Home to losing baseball teams and major league ineptitude since…well, since almost forever?

Milwaukee? Where careers go to die? Where AAA ballplayers go to prove themselves hoping to find a real team to play for? Yep….

OK, so it’s only early May. A lot can happen in the next four-plus months. While the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis, and the New York Yankees are sucking wind, Milwaukee has been kicking some serious butt. It may be too early to say that the Brewers are for real, but 22-10 is tough to argue with.

If I remember Revelations from my Sunday School classes…and it’s been awhile…the Brewers having the best record in baseball comes right before the advent of the anti-Christ and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Y’all ready for this???

(Check out the standings as of last night after the jump)
