The triumph of substance of Republican smear tactics

If anyone is interested in why I’m leaning very strongly towards John Edwards (absent the miraculous appearance of candidate Al Gore, of course), this article should go a long way towards providing an explanation. The more I learn about Edwards, and the more I listen to him, the more I’m realizing that he impresses me far more than either Sen. Barack Obama or Sen. Hillary Clinton, both of whom leave me wanting more. In Obama’s case, I’d like some actual, honest-to-God substance. In Clinton’s case, I’d wish she’d stop trying to be all things to all people. Edwards, at least, seems to be willing to expend some political capital and his considerable energy in the hope that he can make a difference. It may not be enough to win him the Democratic nomination…but it should be.
