Thank God for Mississippi. And Oklahoma.
According to and interactive chart by MSNBC, Texas is 49th overall in health care with Mississippi and Oklahoma tied for 50th in the nation. This means Texas has moved up a notch on the scale of Texas worst place to live in US. The interactive chart has Texas 48th in cost of healthcare even after the promises of massive tort reforms limiting the liability of everything from vaccinations to medical malpractice. 48th in quality of healthcare, 51st in access, 46th in quality, 49th in equity, and 24th in healthy lives.
Man, this is a great place to live, eh? Yep, Texas rocks…if you’re fortunate enough to have money. If not…well, you can just go to Louisiana or New Mexico. Let it never be said that Texas is going to pull a metaphorical muscle helping those less fortunate souls. And as for health care? Well, skippy, let the buyer beware? If you’re stupid enough to go to a bad doctor…hey, don’t be expecting the state of Texas to be bailing you out. What…are you some sort of socialist or somethin’??
When the founders of this great state became ill, they knew how to take care of business. They grabbed a few leeches and a Bowie knife and they did it themselves. If it was good enough for them, it’s good enough for you. Especially if you’re poor. That’s how we roll here…and if you don’t like it, you can damn well move to Mississippi.
