Rep. Kanjorski: Minnesota bridge victims ‘screwed us.’
Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) thinks the $250 million bill Congress passed to rebuild the collapsed bridge in Minneapolis was a ripoff because it exceeded the normal $100 million limit for emergency relief projects. Said Kanjorski: Minnesotans “discovered they were going to get all the money from the federal government and they were taking all they could get,” he said. They took the opportunity “to screw us,” he said. Congress stipulated that the funds be used for bridge repair.
Man, this has got to be the single most ignorant, mean-spirited, and vile thing I’ve heard come out of a Republican’s (Uh…wait…he’s a Democrat. Sorry, my bad. Did someone give me decaf this morning?? Damn….) mouth in quite some time. With bodies still trapped in cars under the rubble of the I-35W bridge just south of downtown Minneapolis, Rep. DUMB@$$ Kanjorski has the gall to complain about money being appropriated to build the Twin Cities’ most heavily-travelled bridge. This isn’t about screwing anyone, despite the immature, sour grapes approach that Rep. DUMB@$$ Kanjorski has chosen to take. This is about rebuilding a city, helping it’s residents to heal, and restoring the economic vitality of one of this nation’s largest cities. Rebuilding the I-35W bridge is as much about healing the people of Minnesota as it is restoring Minneapolis’ ability to move people in and out of downtown Minneapolis. I-35W and the freedom of movement it affords commuters in the Twin Cities is a major traffic AND economic concern. Yes, Minnesota needs to be able to heal, and rebuilding the I-35W bridge will accelerate the process. But from a purely economic standpoint, rebuilding the bridge is a must.
If Rep. DUMB@$$ Kanjorski chooses to see it as Minnesota “screwing” his district or the rest of the country, I have a very simple message for him:
F—K YOU… and the horse you rode in on.
What a miserable excuse for a human being. Way back when, I had a friend with a good way of describing DUMB@$$E$ like Kanjorski: “I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire.” I can’t think of a better way to describe Rep. DUMB@$$ Kanjorski.
