Pastor Wiley Drake Calls for Imprecatory Prayer against So-Called Religious Liberty Watchdog Group
As a pastor, former national Southern Baptist leader, radio talk show host, author, and political expert, Wiley S. Drake is something of a modern day Renaissance man, except in how he rejects all tenets of the Enlightenment. When he recently used Church letterhead ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ and his talk show, broadcast directly from his First Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park, CA ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ to endorse former fatty Mike Huckabee for president, some atheist jerks at Americans United for Separation of Church and State ratted him out to the IRS, who are now investigating the church’s tax-exempt status. Drake responded as any good Christian would: by imploring his congregation to pray for the immediate, painful deaths of his enemies.
There are those Christians I admire for their faith and their willingness to live their beliefs and to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Then there are those like Wiley Drake, a joyless, amoral lot- so convinced of their moral superiority that they’re willing to put their ignorance, intolerance, and hatred on public display.
It’s no secret that churches are by law expecting to refrain from overt political activity. This is one of the requirements for a religious organization that wants to continue to enjoy tax-exempt status. Drake is certainly free to endorse whomever he chooses, but he needs to understand that being an alleged “Christian” does NOT give him the right to simply ignore the laws of man whenever and however he sees fit. America is still a nation of laws, and the rule of law is one of the things that allows Drake to worship whatever bastardized version of Christianity he chooses.
If Drake chooses to openly engage in advocating for a Republican Presidential candidate- in this case, Mike Huckabee- that is his choice. However, making that choice means he and his church should no longer be eligible to enjoy their tax-exempt status. Then again, when you see yourself as not bound by the laws of man, but by the word of God, you get Wiley Drake, who clearly feels himself unbound by the rule of law.
How scary is this troll? Well, apparently his version of Jesus was a hitman on The Sopranos….

John Calvin gave the church its marching orders from Scripture. The righteous have dominion, but only through imprecatory prayer against the ungodly.
David as our Old Testament shepherd gives us many Imprecatory prayers, and can be found to be in best focus in Psalm 109. Also chapters 55, 58, 68, 69, and 83
Pray these back to God and He will answer.
Jesus in Matthew 23: 13, 15, 16, 23, 24, 27, and 29 gave us our New Testament marching orders as well.
Let us join Paul and declare anathema upon anyone” who loves not the Lord Jesus.” I Cor 16:22

Yes, we already knew that Drakes’s God is quite happy to kick @$$ and take names, but openly praying for the death of his adversaries is beyond the pale no matter what flavor of Christianity you happen to profess. Apparently, in Drake’s church the just compassionate God that you might find in…oh, I don’t know- the pages of the Bible??- is disdained for being a girlie man. No Drake’s God will happy wipe out and destroy anyone who dares to oppose or merely not to believe in Him- God as Josef Stalin, if you will.
And who should the Holy Pogroms be directed against? Yep, anyone with the temerity to imply or claim that Drake is somehow in violation of the law via his overt political activity. The fact of the matter, though, is that Drake IS violating the law, and his endorsement of Huckabee should be enough for his church to lose it’s tax-exempt status.
What would Jesus do? Well, he’d carpet-bomb their villages, rape their women, torture and kill their children…and THEN he’d convert them to Christianity…’cuz you don’t want heathens to die without having heard the word of God, right??
