It would be one thing if American soldiers were actually fighting an enemy. At least they would be fighting a war they were nominally trained to fight. When fully one-third of American combat deaths come as the result of IED explosions…well, how could this possibly be construed as advancing Americans interests in Iraq? These soldiers are literally being sacrificed for no discernible reason without even the opportunity to defend themselves. Soldiers deal with the possibility of death; it’s part of what they train for, and it’s an occupational hazard. Even so, soldiers expect to face death on the field of battle- not while being randomly ambushed on a roadway by a remotely-detonated high explosive.
Memo to Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © : say hello to your legacy. You will likely go down in history as a President willing to blithely sacrifice our sons and daughters to prop up your lies and propaganda. If there’s any justice in this world, and even if you’re never prosecuted, history will judge as both a war criminal and The Worst Presidet EVER © … a miserable failure as both a leader and a human being.
