True, principled leadership is admitting that you've stepped in a large, steaming pile of DUMB@$$

Romney, Winner in Iowa, `Misspoke’ About Sons’ Military Choice

Giuliani: I misspoke about ground zero

I’m normally not one to take enjoyment from the suffering of another. However, when someone brings that suffering upon themselves through hubris, arrogance, and an inflated opinion of their self-worth…well, I’m gonna be all over that like white on rice. Frankly, they don’t come much dumber, more arrogant, and more egotistical than Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani…who just happen to be two of the front runners for the 2008 GOP Presidential nomination. To say that Giuliani and Romney richly deserve the ridicule and bile directed their way would be something of an understatement. To say that I’m enjoying watching them squirm like cockroaches pinned to a display card wouldn’t begin to do justice to the depth and breadth of my disdain for these two DUMB@$$E$.

Giuliani has repeatedly attempted to bask in the reflected brilliance of his self-protrayal as the “Hero of 9.11”. While there actually were heroes working on the pile doing what needed to be done (and paying the price later for their heroism with a litany of health problems), Giuliani was wandering around the margins, getting face time on CNN and FOX News Channel while making vague, overgeneralized statements and promises to New Yorkers- most of which went by the wayside when the cameras packed up on moved on. In his defense, Giuliani did do many good things in the aftermath of 9.11. The man went to more funerals that any one person should be subjected to in their lifetime. Nonetheless, Giuliani’s campaign has been almost literally all 9.11, all the time. It’s tiresome, it’s meaningless, and it’s demeaning to the memory of those who lost their lives on that horrible day. Surely, Rudy Giuliani is more than just 9.11…right? Sadly, that seems to be about all he’s selling these days.

Romney, on the other hand, is a serial DUMB@$$ whose campaign slogan might as well be “TALK TO THE HAIR!” So far, he’s proven himself to be just another self-righteous, rich, White, uber-patriotic Republican opportunist who’s more than happy to support the war in Iraq- as long as someone else’s child is doing the fighting and dying.

If Romney’s sons have chosen careers outside the military, that’s their choice in a free society with an all-volunteer armed force. To equate their decision to work on their father’s campaign with risking their lives in the service of their country is just plain offensive, and it demonstrates just how clueless and out of touch Romney is.

Neither Mitt Romney nor Rudy Giuliani deserve to be seriously considered as Presidential timbre…except by those who standards and attention spans are so low that they’re easily manipulated by self-serving Right-wing propaganda. Hey, it worked for Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © , no??
