Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Giuliani Advisor Criticized For Remark

Rep. Peter King: There are “too many mosques in this country”

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #661: Rep. Peter King (R-NY)

WASHINGTON ‚Äö√Ñ√Æ A homeland security adviser to Rudy Giuliani came under fire Thursday for claiming there were “too many mosques” in the United States _ and defended himself by saying his point was that not enough Muslim leaders cooperate with law enforcement. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., the former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and the top GOP member on the panel, said his comments to the Politico Web site were taken out of context. Democrats said Giuliani should drop him as a campaign adviser…. “I stand by everything I said other than the fact that the Politico totally took it out of context,” King said Thursday. In the Politico interview, King said: “Unfortunately we have too many mosques in this country, there’s too many people who are sympathetic to radical Islam. We should be looking at them more carefully, we should be finding out how we can infiltrate, we should be much more aggressive in law enforcement.”

You know, sometimes it just seems like you can’t keep a good DUMB@$$ down. Say hello to New York Republican Congressman (and previous DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener) Peter King, a man who knows what he believes and isn’t afraid to display his ignorance and bigotry for all to see. After all, this seems to be what Republicans do these days- pander and fear-monger…because Lord knows they have no ideas to share. Besides, if you can keep the sheeple terrorized and afraid of their own shadows, they’ll do anything you tell them to if you present it as protecting them from The Bogeyman terrorism. If there’s one thing that Republicans have learned since 9.11, it’s the awesome power of fear. If you can generate it in sufficient quantity and turn it to your advantage, not only will the American people never recognize that they’re being manipulated, they’ll follow wherever they’re led.

Peter King is an ignoramus and a pandering bigot of the first order…which seems to be the role that Rudy Giuliani wants him to play. King can do the dirty work that Giuliani, who needs to appear “Presidential: cannot do himself. If King goes too far, Giuliani can express the appropriate regrets and opine that sometimes even good and committed public servants can go too far in their zeal to protect the Homeland from the scourge of Islamofacist terrorism. Except that I’m guessing that King is doing EXACTLY what Giuliani wants him to do. Given that his campaign is all 9.11, all the time, King can pander to the American Sheeple and their fears in a way that Giuliani simply cannot if he wishes to remain above the fray.

I’ll tell you what, though…watch the clip of King, and decide for yourself. From where I sit, it seems clear that for King, the equation is simple. “Too many Mosques” = radical Islam = terrorism. To quote my friend Nick Bakay, “It’s so simple when you break it down scientifically.”

Jeebus, is this a DUMB@$$, or what??
