Better to be thought a fool than to be Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and remove all doubt, eh?

So Is Ahmadinejad Kind Of Hot?

Gays in Iran

Personally, all the sturm and drang regarding former DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech at Columbia University seems to me to be much ado about nothing. What, really, is so bad about giving someone a forum with which to prove themselves a fool? If you think about it, only one of two things will happen: one, Ahmadinejad would convince his listeners of the correctness of his views by sheer force of logic (highly unlikely). Two, he could leave his audience, and indeed most Americans, with the distinct impression that he truly is a world-class DUMB@$$ with the conscience of a snake and the intellect of a bar of Irish Spring. He does make a good Bogeyman, though.

I mean, who knew that Iran is a completely gay-free environment? Man, you’d think that Social Conservatives would be falling all over themselves buying up prime real estate in Tehran.

And who would have known that Palestinians are the ones suffering because of the Holocaust? Or that Iran really is a good friend to Israel? Yeah, I know; with friends like that, who needs enemas?? Then again, according to the Iranian press, Ahmadinejad was greeted like some sort of conquering hero. After all, since Iranians live in a truly democratic Paradise, why shouldn’t he and his trusty white steed be welcomed accordingly?

If you can discount the fact that Ahmadinejad denies the Holocaust happened (and insists that, if it did, then Palestinians are the true victims), advocates the destruction of Israel, denies the existence of homosexuals in Iran, questions the reality of 9.11, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum, why shouldn’t Columbia have welcomed him with open arms? The guy’s a walking comedy gold mine, and without a doubt the best quote in the Middle East since Baghdad Bob. Never mind the fact that he gives new meaning to the term “self-parody”.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with Columbia’s invitation to Ahmadinejad. People should be able to see for themselves what a fool and a total loon the man is. Perhaps in doing so, they’ll come to realize that the threat posed by Iran is not from any nuclear program, but from the mental midget at the top of the country’s political food chain, which is populated by bigots, misogynists and fools.

Man, I wish I would have caught The Daily Show last night….
