Senate Passes Hate Crimes Bill; Larry Craig Opposes

[T]he Senate voted 60-39 to end debate on the Matthew Shepard Act, which expands federal hate crimes laws to include violence based on a victim’s sexual orientation, gender, disability, and other factors…. Notably, Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) voted against the legislation.

Shocked I am…shocked that a Republican could stoop to such hypocrisy. I’d been willing to give Larry Craig the benefit of the doubt. After all, I’d reasoned, the man’s human, right? Sure, he did something stupid, but he wouldn’t complicate things by continuing his hypocritical opposition to gay rights, would he? Would he?

Damn, you’d think I’d have learned by now that hypocritical, family values, holier-than-thou Republicans don’t change their stripes simply because they’ve been caught soliciting gay sex in an airport men’s room. Larry Craig is the worst sort of hypocrite imaginable, but if you believe in karma like I do, you can believe that someday this will come back around on him.

Jeebus, what a (&^%$#@ DUMB@$$….

Self-denial and self-loathing are evidently powerful emotions.

Is he already receiving his karmic rewards? Think about his sex life and compare it to your sex life. Evidently his best sex life, what he actively seeks out, involves soliciting hairy strangers in public restrooms?

I could almost pity him if he wasn’t such a smug self-loathing hypocrite.

Good point. Being a conservative Republican is its own hell.
