So, how's that whole "Compassionate Conservative" thing working out for you??

OK, try wrapping your head around this one. $500,000 EVERY minute, each and every day. $500,000 poured down the rathole that Iraq has become, never to be seen again. When it comes to calculating the cost in American blood and treasure of what’s being done in our name, it’s doesn’t get much plainer than this.

$720 million a day could buy homes for 6,500 families or health care for 423,529 children. Think about that for a second. Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © could be using his second term to solidify his legacy by ensuring that American families can afford to buy homes, or that American children might have access to health care (After all, what else could “Compassionate Conservatism” be about??). He could be making sure that Americans at home are taken care of. Instead, we’re mired in a pointless, endless war of aggression for reasons that cannot be fully and adequately explained without the liberal (no pun intended) use of Right-wing propaganda and talking points. It’s the oil, stupid.

I can think of nothing that more thoroughly illustrates how far off track we’ve allowed this nation to go than the above graphic. What does it say about us when we’re willing to tolerate a pointless, unwinnable war of attrition…and yet we’re willing to do this to the exclusion of the tax-paying American public? This is not about terrorism. This is about oil, who controls it, and a cabal of thugs willing to enforce American-style democracy on the Middle East from the barrel of a gun. It’s about a President who’s perfectly happy living in his bubble as his thugocracy redefines “Compassionate Conservatism” as the ultimate oxymoron.

Still glad you voted Republican??
