Transparent, demagogic...and built to stay that way

Yes, nothing should indicate just how thoroughly Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © believes in his own propaganda than this:

Following their testimony to Congress, General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker will appear exclusively on FOX News Channel on Monday at 9pm EDT for a one hour live interview with Brit Hume….

You see, at no point has it EVER been about the “surge”, our sons and daughters in uniform, protecting the Homeland, or really anything except playing out the string until The Worst President EVER © can hand the problem off to his successor. Most likely, the poor victim successor will be a Democrat who Republicans will immediately attempt to demonize as being responsible for the clusterf—k in Iraq. It will neither matter nor be particularly important that the next President will likely spend most of his (or her) term trying to clean up the mess created by King George the Worst © and his neoCon thugocracy…because once the Right-wing Noise Machine gets itself revved up, half the electorate will believe that Democrats are responsible for the war in Iraq and it’s criminally incompetent prosecution.

Yes, nothing quite says “(&^% you…we’re pandering to the 26% who still support me” like sending Gen. Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker to an interview on Fox News Channel, which has been symbolically fellating the Bush Administration since Day One. Where else could two of the biggest apologists for the clusterf—k that is Iraq count on getting a hero’s welcome? Both Petraeus and Crocker can count on a “hail-fellow-well-met” atmosphere in the FNC studio, where they’ll no doubt be verbally fellated and peppered with softball questions designed to provide them with every possible opportunity to thoroughly propagandize the small segment of the American sheeple who still unquestioningly support The Decider © and his Glorious War of Liberation in Iraq.

Sure, the surge is working…all you have to do is to keep repeating it loudly and with sufficient conviction. Eventually, not only you, but those around you will come to believe in the immutable truth that the surge is indeed creating a veritable paradise of peace, harmony, and prosperity in Iraq.

Somewhere, Josef Goebbels is smiling, no?
