Tyson Reports To Tent City: Gets 3 Years Probation For Drug Charge
PHOENIX — Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson had nothing to say to reporters as he checked himself into the Maricopa County jail system to serve a one-day sentence for a DUI conviction. Tyson wore jail-issued pink underwear and a black-and-white striped jumpsuit as he climbed off the prison van.
Yeah, yeah…OK, I get it. I understand that Mike Tyson had a rough childhood-broken home, no father figure, juvenile delinquency, yada yada yada…. I get it, but don’t be telling me that it’s an excuse for his long history of violent misogyny and immature disregard for societal norms. At some point, a public figures needs to demonstrate that they can play by the rules- or they end up becoming a pariah and a laughing stokc like Mike Tyson, who’s the living definition of DUMB@$$….and a loser.
If you’re going to beat and rape women, assault people on the street, engage in recreational drug use, and piss away all the millions you’ve won over the years, you can’t claim to be surprised when millions of reasonable, law-abiding Americans consider you to be a major DUMB@$$. Mike Tyson could have had it all- the money, the women, the acclaim- but there was a part of him that for whatever reason just couldn’t deal with life in the public eye. Yes, he had a difficult start to life, and while he may not have had the advantages of a stable, secure childhood, he’s certainly had some serious financial and career successes. To say that Tyson has wasted his opportunities and successes would be a serious understatement.
Mike Tyson, a DUMB@$$ is ever there was one, deserves his pink underwear. Unfortunately, if he hasn’t learned his lesson by now, the odds are very good that this latest setback won’t exactly serve as a wake-up call. This is why Tyson so thoroughly deserves his DUMB@$$ AWARD.
