They'd take care of you, but they're too busy taking care of themselves

Dumping the GOP. What took you so long?

John T. Johnson III of Arlington Texas had an op-ed in the Houston Chronicle “This Texas Republican has had it up to here” claiming after decades of blindly voting Republican because “They will take care of you” he will finally open his eyes and has become an independent. (link not available at this time. Go buy the paper. It is a good read.) John, what the living hell took you so long? Your insurance rates have doubled, the cost of college has risen by 44% for your grandkids, gasoline has been over $2.50/gal for years, the Republican party has been known for its deep corruption and sex scandals for years now. Is this what you thought “taking care of you” meant?

It never ceases to amaze me how so much of the American sheeple electorate can still profess to support the Republican Party. Then again, I suppose if you’re not accustomed to thinking critically, and if you’re used to reacting and voting based on emotion, you’re still easily propagandized. After seven years of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © Reign of Error, you’d think that Americans would be smart enough to recognize corruption, ineptitude, and amorality when they see it. Of course, you have to keep in mind that most of the knee-jerk reactionary Conservatives have been conditioned to think that the Democratic Party is the party of Satan- i.e., Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. When you see feminazis and Godless Libruls everywhere, working to destroy Our Way of Life, you’re not exactly predisposed to favorably considerating the idea of changing horses in the middle of an Apocalypse.

I could run through the litany of Republican (&^%-ups since the Worst President EVER © took office, but if you don’t know them by now, nothing I say or do will likely change that. From where I sit, the ineptitude, the incompetence, and the sheer demagoguery are really only indicative of how low the standards of Americans have sunk. If the idiot in the Oval Office happened to be a Democrat, you can bet the hue and cry for impeachment would be heard from sea to shining sea…and deservedly so. With a Republican in office, though, Americans seem disturbingly presupposed to condoning a much lower acceptable level of competence and performance.

Incompetence. Greed. Perversion. Hypocrisy. Propaganda. The senseless murder of American soldiers. Ineptitude. Amorality. Hmm…I can’t help but thinking that I’ve left a few things out, but if you’ve got half a brain, you get the point. Dude, where’s my country??

STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN?? DON’T YOU WISH EVERYONE WOULD??
