Wanting something to be a certain way does not ipso facto make it so

White House: Reality Of Iraq War Has A Well-Known Liberal Bias

Reality has a well-known Liberal bias.

Interesting isn’t it, how the Bush Administration attempts to spin inconvenient facts as figments of “Liberal bias”. The release of a report that pegs the “hidden costs” of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at $1.5 TRILLION (and no, that’s NOT a typo, y’all….) is merely the latest example of this ideological mental masturbation. If the facts don’t fit your preconceived notion of how things oughta be…well, you just kill the messenger. It sure as Hell beats having to focus on the message, which is the above figure factors out to more than $20,000 for an average American family of four.

“Hidden costs” include “higher oil prices, the expense of treating wounded veterans, and interest payments on the money borrowed to pay for the wars”. Of course, there’s no way to put a dollar amount on the pain, the suffering, and the psychic damage done to this country and those who have lost loved ones to Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © illegal and immoral war in Iraq. No matter how much he and his apologists try to spin it, the reality is that the war in Iraq has NOTHING to do with the war on terror, our freedom, or any of the other happy bullshit that’s been spoon-fed to us over the past four-plus years. If anything, we’re less secure now than we were in March, 2003…and let’s not forget the reality that there was no terrorist threat in Iraq prior to our invasion. The Worst President EVER © created the very terrorist threat he now insists we must fight to the death…and almost 4,000 of our sons and daughter have paid the price for this perfidy.

Reality does NOT have a well-known Liberal bias. Reality is what it is; those who attempt to spin it do so for the own purposes. Propaganda doesn’t change reality…and the reality is that almost 4,000 young Americans have been sacrificed on the altar of lies, spin, and propaganda. America is no safer- in fact, we’re probably less secure- than we were in March, 2003. For those of us who grew up as children of the Vietnam Era, this war has the undeniable tinge of the war we were all supposed to learn so many valuable lessons from. Just as 50,000+ brave Americans died in Vietnam for no discernable reason, close to 4,000 have died for a collection of myths, half-truths, and outright lies in Iraq. Ah, but that George W. Bush is such a brave and resolute leader isn’t he??

STILL GLAD YOU VOTED REPUBLICAN?? Don’t you wish everyone would?
