Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #700: Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Yeah, he sures love him some troops, eh? “Yeah, let’s not feel too sorry for them. After all, they signed up for it, and they knew the risks ahead of time.” I suppose this is the new and improved Compassionate Conservatism 2.0, eh?

Yes, our sons and daughters in uniform DID sign up of their own free will. Many of them did so in the aftermath of 9.11, because they wanted to be able to fight those responsible for attacking us on our own soil. I seriously doubt any of them signed up to have their lives wasted to prop up the legacy and lies of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © and his merry band of Republithugs . I can’t imagine that any of them suspected for even a moment that their lives would be treated so casually and with so little regard. Almost 4,000 young Americans went to war in Iraq only to come home in flag-draped boxes…and for what? Who told them that their lives would be wasted, that they would die horrific, painful deaths that ultimately gained no advantage for their country- neither protecting our freedom or protecting us from terrorism? No one, that’s who.

These may have been young kids from middle America, but their lives were worth no more, and certainly no less, than the overfed, self-important politicians who sent them to Iraq in service of lies and propaganda. For Sen. DUMB@$$ to so casually diss those who’ve given their lives in the service of lies and propaganda is simply inexcusable. Yes, these are professional soldiers we’re talking about, but that doesn’t make their lives less valuable or less worthy of being treated as they precious commodities they were. It certainly doesn’t mean they deserve to be posthumously treated in such an offhanded, cavalier fashion by a self-righteous, self-important Republithug and DUMB@$$ like Sen. McConnell.

(&^% ‘em…they signed up for it, eh? This is how Republicans support our troops? Don’t tell me that you thought they actually cared….
