Fair and balanced...if you're a Right-wing dominionist theocrat with an abiding hatred of Libruls

So, I’m finishing my workout at the gym yesterday morning, and as I’m on one of the elliptical trainers, the television in front of me is tuned to Faux News Channel. As I’m watching it closed-captioned, and the talking heads are discussing the news of the day, it was all I could do to stifle the urge to vomit. It never ceases to amaze me that a significant portion of the population actually swallows this crap. Millions of knuckle-dragging troglodytes actually sincerely believe that FNC is “fair and balanced”, even though what they’re being fed is transparent Right-wing propaganda…and it’s not as if it takes a Ph.D. to recognize that. Any lucid homo sapien with a functional intellect and the ability to engage in a modicum of critical thinking could figure that one out.

What I really want to know, though, is whether or not the various talking heads at FNC actually believe the Right-wing propaganda they unquestioninly peddle, or if it’s all just an act. Surely, well-educated and intelligent people like these couldn’t possibly embrace an ideology that combines equal parts arrogance, ignorance, Right-wing propaganda, and Christian dominionism…could they?

THIS is a news network?

As if we needed any additional proof that FNC has completely jumped the shark, consider that Fox News Channel, a cable NEWS network, has given Rick Warren, an evangelist, his own Christmas Eve special. Regardless of your stance on Christianity and Christmas, is this really the sort of thing that belongs on a cable NEWS network??

Then again, Jesus was a Republican, no?
