Countdown Special Comment: The NIE Reflects An “Unhinged, Irrational Chicken Little Of A President”
We have either a president who is too dishonest to restrain himself from invoking World War Three about Iran at least six weeks after he had to have known that the analogy would be fantastic, irresponsible hyperbole — or we have a president too transcendently stupid not to have asked — at what now appears to have been a series of opportunities to do so — whether the fairy tales he either created or was fed, were still even remotely plausible. A pathological presidential liar, or an idiot-in-chief. It is the nightmare scenario of political science fiction: A critical juncture in our history and, contained in either answer, a president manifestly unfit to serve, and behind him in the vice presidency: an unapologetic war-monger who has long been seeing a world visible only to himself.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Olbermann, going back to his days opposite Dan Patrick on ESPN’s SportsCenter. If I could choose to have anything I want (besides a stable emotional state), I think it would be his intelligence, his erudition, and his biting, incisive wit. Let’s face it; the man can turn a phrase AND he can put the focus on idiocy and hypocrisy like no one else. His on-going, long-running feud with Bill O’Reilly is the stuff of legend- O’Reilly blustering and bloviating while Olbermann calls “bullshit” on him early and often.
By taking on Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © , Olbermann has shown that he’s not one to unquestioningly accept the lies and propaganda that virtually everyone else in the mainstream media seems willing to swallow faithfully. And it’s not as if Olbermann is some woolly-headed Liberal ideologue. One of the things I’ve always admired about him is that he will call “bullshit” on anyone guilty of engaging in behavior indicative of hypocrisy, ignorance, and/or self-interest. The sad thing is that Olbermann seems to be the only member of the Mainstream Media willing to speak the honest truth about The Worst President EVER © . If Olbermann were merely just another Liberal ideologue, his diatribes would not carry nearly the gravitas that they do.
The truly depressing thing about this is that Olbermann is spot on…and yet no one in the Mainstream Media seems to have the moral courage to speak truth to power as he does. Even worse, the leadership of the Democratically-controlled Congress refuses to even consider impeachment. In so doing, they have made themselves complicit in the continuing crimes being committed by those both occupying and supporting the highest offices in the lands.
Let’s face reality here, shall we? The American Sheeple don’t seem to care; they’re too busy being “good Germans”…and the Mainstream Media can’t be bothered to tell us the truth. It would appear that we have exactly the quality of leadership we deserve. What’s sad is that our standards are so disturbingly low.
