Conservative-Funded Study: Fox News Gives Most Balanced Coverage

A study released this month by the Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA) at George Mason University found that Fox News Channel’s evening coverage was more “balanced” than that of the broadcast networks. However, the objectivity of the CMPA, which bills itself as a nonpartisan media watchdog group, is questionable, as the Center for Media and Democracy’s SourceWatch found that “nearly all its funding comes from conservative foundations.

“Fair and balanced” has become over the years one of the most consistently twisted and ultimately meaningless phrase in the annals of modern marketing. Given enough money, a willing tool, and sufficient lies, damn lies, and statistics, anything can be made to seem “fair and balanced”. After all, all the Nazis were trying to do was to create a country where good, God-fearing Aryans could get a fair shake, right? They weren’t looking for special rights; they were simply tired of Jews getting all the breaks. Hitler and his minions simply wanted to create a system that was “fair and balanced” when it came to their rights and opportunities. After all, why should secret Jewish cabals be allowed to control world financial markets, thus strangling the aspirations of good, God-fearing Aryans?

If you happen to teeter on the far edge of the Far Right, I can imagine that Faux News Channel probably does feel “fair and balanced”. After all, FNC’s ideological bent mirrors your own…and what could be more fair and more balanced than that. At least you don’t have to listen to that (&^%$#@ Satanic propaganda channel, CNN. (&^%$#@ Liberal media….

Now that we actually a report that vindicatives what Conservatives have been saying all along, I suppose I should just STFU, right? I mean, shouldn’t I just accept defeat gracefully and crawl back under the rock from whence I sprang? Yeah, right….
