Nothing quite like serial monogamy, eh?

Eddie Murphy and film executive Tracey Edmonds have split just two weeks after their wedding near Bora Bora, People magazine reports. The pair exchanged vows on a French Polynesian island on New Year’s Day but had yet to seal the deal legally in the U.S…. “After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further,” Murphy and Edmonds told People in a statement.

Man, and I thought I was having issues in the marital bliss department. Nosirree, I ain’t got nuthin’ on Eddie Murphy. A scant two weeks after getting married, he and his blushing bride are apparently already headed their separate ways. Two weeks? They haven’t even had time to unpack from the honeymoon. If a marriage can’t even make it two weeks, you have to wonder what in the world these maroons were thinking…if in fact there actually was an honest-to-God thought process. At least one of the parties was thinking with the wrong head.

Of course, I’m not exactly in a position to be criticizing the conduct of other people when it comes to the institution of marriage…but two weeks? You’d think that there would have been be at least a little something resembling due diligence done prior to jumpin’ da broom, no? Or not….
