The Most Inappropriate Bush War Smirk of 2007
Given 2008’s inevitably ramped-up analysis of the Bush Legacy by the very serious traditional media, there’s one aspect of the president which, staggeringly though not surprisingly, won’t be covered. In fact, it’s never been covered to my knowledge. The traditional media has never really challenged the president on his grotesquely inappropriate reactions to serious issues — especially Iraq. His uncomfortably ridiculous smirks and smiles illustrate his inadequacies as a leader: his fugacious attitude; his vacant stature; and, most strikingly, his apparent inability to grasp the reality of his decisions. It’s all right there on the screen — underlined by those tiny baby teeth.
I understand the concept of personal idiosyncracies or annoying personal habits. We all have them- little tics or nervous habits that belie our humanity and vulnerability. That sort of thing I can both forgive and understand in a President, who after all, is no more or less a flawed human being than those he represents. In the case of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © , though, that annoying smirk is just a bit more than I can stomach, especially when he’s referring to the clusterf—k of a war in Iraq and the carnage and suffering his rush to war has created for this country. That smirk says that his opinion of his Excellent Adventure in Iraq © is something he feels should be self-evident, that if only Americans would just let him do his job, things would be so much easier. That smirk makes it just that much easier for me to detest the lying thug, who seems to have forgotten that he answers to ALL Americans, and not just the 26% who still support him.
What a sorry, miserable, and thoroughly destestable excuse for a human being….
