Nothing like having a rational political dialogue...and I'll let you know as soon as I find one

If you haven’t heard already, there’s a nifty little Anti-Hillary Clinton group called Citizens United Not Timid. Yes. CUNT. They say they’re a 527 Organization to “Educate the American people to what Hillary Clinton is really like”; I say they’re not very clever. This just seems like a rip of of Dixie Chick singer Natalie Maine’s feud with Toby Keith where she wore a shirt that said FUTK, or, Fans United Together in Kindness shirt on stage at her concerts. (FUTK = Fuck You Toby Keith). Speaking of country music, some other clever group has made this special T-shirt. I really wonder why people think this is okay. Can you imagine if people created an anti-Obama T-shirt that used The Mother Of All Racial Slurs? Yeah. Something tells me it would be kind of a big deal.

I can understand not supporting Hillary Clinton because you don’t agree with her positions on the issues. That’s your right in a free society. What I simply don’t get, however, is the irrational and unfocused hatred directed toward Sen. Clinton simply because…well, I really have no idea why. Perhaps it’s just the old “successful men are driven, successul women are castrating bitches” canard. Perhaps it’s just hatred of women. Perhaps it’s the belief that a women’s place is in the home, barefoot and pregnant. Whatever the reason behind the lunacy, I’m sick to death of the “politics of personal destruction”, a phrase Sen. Clinton coined to describe the hatefulness and vitriol directed at both her and her husband, and one that’s disturbingly accurate.

I remember reading a few months ago that something like 54% of American voters said they couldn’t conceive of a circumstance that would allow them to vote for Sen. Clinton. Certainly, some of those folks have legitimate gripes with her positions on issues that are important to them. I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that the majority of these people feel the way they do because…well, because they just HATE Hillary Clinton. They might not be able to elucidate as to why, but they HATE her with a hatred that’s both visceral and thoroughly irrational. The vast majority have never met her and have NO idea what she is like on a personal level. All they know is what Right-wing talking heads and Right-wing hate radio have drummed into their soft li’l haids over the years- Hillary Clinton is an evil, castrating bitch who will neuter American males while she, her lipstick Lesbian supporters, and her army of militant Lesbian drones infiltrate all levels of American government. Left unchecked, the “feminazis” will fundamentally change life as we know it. Uh…what???

“527” groups like C.U.N.T. are an affront to every good and decent American who values our democracy. The knuckle-dragging troglodytes behind C.U.N.T. might think that they’re being funny, or that they’re legitimately putting forth their views. In a free society like ours, of course they’re free to express themselves. I’m also free to call them out for being the anti-democratic, insulting trolls they are.

I may believe in the right of groups like C.U.N.T. to express their “political views”. This, unfortunately, is an illustration of the reality that free speech can be and often is highly obnoxious and offensive speech. Yes, this is a democracy, and I grant that they have every bit as much right as I do to express themselves. I suspect there are those who find my views highly offensive. I don’t think I’m alone, though, in expressing the opinion that these folks should go (&^% themselves. They add nothing, and indeed they detract from the serious business of discussing who should be our next President. As far as I’m concerned, they can go to Hell. NOW. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Go directly to Hell.
