Catholic League Furious With McCain Over Endorsement
Calling Pastor John Hagee a “bigot,” the conservative Catholic League is calling for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to denounce/renounce/reject his endorsement Wednesday. With a Youtube link to prove his point, Catholic League president Bill Donohue said Hagee “has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church. For example, he likes calling it ‘The Great Whore,’ an ‘apostate church,’ the ‘anti-Christ,’ and a ‘false cult system.’ …”Senator Obama has repudiated the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan, another bigot. McCain should follow suit and retract his embrace of Hagee.”…. McCain spox Jill Hazelbaker says, “Hagee endorsed John McCain. While we welcome his support, it shouldn’t be seen as a wholesale endorsement of all of Mr. Hagee’s views.”
I have this recurring dream, while always leaves me waking up with a smile on my face. Bill Donohue’s face reddens with unfocused rage, the veins on his forehead bulge menacingly, and before long his head explodes…and the crowd goes wild!! Would that this would happen, but of course, we’ll no doubt be spared the satisfaction of seeing Donohue’s skull splattered all over Manhattan.
So John Hagee has endorsed John McCain? OK, cue the Louis Farrakhan analogies in 4…3…2…. You just gotta know they’re not far behind.
I would agree that John Hagee is an unreconstructed troll of the first order. Hagee, after all, preaches about an “end time confrontation with Iran”.
The United States must join Israel in a pre-emptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God’s plan for both Israel and the West‚Äö√Ѭ∂ a biblically prophesied end-time confrontation with Iran, which will lead to the Rapture, Tribulation, and Second Coming of Christ.
Jeebus…if Hagee is a Christian, then I’m the reincarnation of Kemal Ataturk. I doubt Hagee would recognize the true teachings of Jesus Christ if He were to slap his pudgy, squirrel-like face with them. Hagee, and his nutjob followers, are all about power and control- he wants the power and he wants to be in control. Zealous, knee-jerk Christianity just happens to be his weapon of choice with which to bludgeon those who think and believe differently. I mean; does anyone who stayed awake during Sunday School really think that Our Lord and Savior would have disparaged Catholicism in such an insulting and demeaning manner? I didn’t think so.
If you ponder this dichotomy, Hagee and Donohue are more alike than they are different. Both are intolerant zealots who are firmly, inalterably convinced of their own rectitude and moral superiority. Neither brook any descent from their accepted line. Both are willing to vent their spleen over any slight, whether real or perceived. Both believe that the Mainstream (ergo, Liberal, Godless) Media has it out for them. Both are happy to play the persecution card when it serves their purpose. And both are about as warm and cuddly as the Marquis de Sade.
I could go on, but you get the point. Man, Hagee would be about as much fun at parties as the Black Angel of Death.
Would that the Earth would cleave open and swallow both of these dickweeds….
