Happy Warversary!! How's the carnage and destruction working out for you??

Today marks five years of Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader’s © Excellent Adventure in Iraq © . Who among us thought we’d be “celebrating” an ongoing and seemingly never-ending military involvement in Iraq? Who among us thought we’d be mourning the death of 4,000 brave young Americans and untold thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women, and children? And who among us thought we’d be tasked with fighting a terrorist threat the we created out of whole cloth in Iraq?

Like many Americans, I initially supported the war. At the time, I felt the case had been made, and there was no way to no what a despicable packs of liars were engaged in the packaging and selling of war to us. From The Worst President EVER © to Colin Powell to Paul Wolfowitz, the propaganda sales job was thorough, complete, and completely devoid of morality or ethics. War in Iraq was the goal, and it didn’t matter how it was achieved, only that it was. (Yeah, I know; not one of my prouder moments, eh? That’s what I get for placing country over a functional grip on reality.)

If this sort of egregious dishonesty had been the province of a Democratic President, you can bet that he (or she) would have long since been impeached and driven out of Washington on a rail. Instead, The Decider © is still in office, as secure in his bubble as he ever has been. Over the past five years, our international reputation has decreased to the level of being considered a pariah state. I’m proud to be an American, but I find myself ashamed of my country for what this sorry excuse for a human being President has been allowed to do in our name.

Congratulations, y’all. If you voted for Commander Codpiece © you are complicit in thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of human beings wounded, maimed, and psychologically damaged, perhaps permanently. Yes, you may now be only of the 75% of Amercans who no longer support him, but your vote helped to put him in office. We you simply too ignorant to care or too stupid and lazy to actually pay attention? Whatever the reason, when you look in the mirror this morning, I hope that you can live with the realization that YOU are responsible for the war in Iraq and the five years of carnage it has created. Nice going, eh??
