Kill 'em all...let the superdelegates sort 'em out

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY)

After listening to Steve Inskeep’s interview with Sen. Hillary Clinton on NPR’s Morning Edition yesterday, I’m here to make it official: I have lost whatever shred of respect I may once have had for Sen. Clinton. I take no joy from voicing that opinion…in fact, it deeply saddens me. I’ve long admired her intelligence, her strength of character, and her willingness to stand up for and to do the right thing. The campaign she’s running for the Democratic nomination is, sad to say, a joke and an embarrassment to the Democratic Party. I’m beyond disappointed with the negative and intellectually dishonest tone that Clinton has assumed and condoned in her campaign. Democrats- indeed, ALL Americans- are entitled to expect and demand better from their candidates. Integrity and a respect for the rules hardly seem like too much to ask for- especially after the past eight of the Reign of Error © .

I’ve always believed that you can tell a lot about a person’s character once you get them on a golf course. Their respect for the game’s rules, traditions, and fellow players- or the lack of same- really are a window into a person’s character. The same is true for a political candidate in the midst of a long and challenging campaign. Does the candidate play by the rules, or do they work to change them to their advantage when things don’t go their way? Do they respect their opponent, or do they try to paint them as an interloper who has no business even being in the competition? Do they respect the voters, or do they continually insult their intelligence and sensibilities?

It doesn’t take a Ph.D. to figure where I’m heading with this, does it?

Sen. Clinton’s smug, self-superior “I deserve it, because I’m the smartest, most qualified person in the room. Why? BECAUSE I SAID SO; that’s why. How dare you question me?” attitude sickens me. Listening to her justify seating delegates from Florida and Michigan made me want to puke. Her transparent efforts to seize any and all possible advantages, no matter the cost to the Democratic Party or to her credibility is beyond distasteful. It’s simply disgraceful and dishonest. What else is there to say but….

WE DESERVE BETTER.

Say goodbye, Hillary. Cheaters never prosper…nor are they worthy of respect. Especially when they’re running for President in the dishonest, underhanded manner your are. Enough already….
