Two stupids don't make a smart

“I would submit to you that the vast majority of the folks in our caucus, particularly those who consider themselves conservative, stand with and support Sally,” said state Rep. Randy Terrill.

If there’s one thing I find more offensive (albeit far more entertaining) than rampant, hateful ignorance and prejudice, it’s people that leap to the defense of such trolls. How anyone could with a straight face and in good conscience defend the hateful, bigoted stylings of Sally Kern is something that just sets my pointy l’il haid to wanting to assplode.

I know people from Oklahoma, so I’m not about to sit here and tell you that this sort of attitude reflects a majority opinion. What I will tell you is more people in Oklahoma think like Sally Kern than you might want to believe. Even more frightening is that these people vote…and you can bet that they’re not casting their votes for godless, Librul agents of Satan Democrats.

So how’s that Christian love and charity thing working out for you?? And What Would Jesus Do? Well, I’m no expert, but I have to think that He’d be kicking some serious @$$ and taking names….

How someone like that got elected to a state position is mind-boggling..

She sounds like a lot of my fellow duhBraskuns. I keep my iPod and iTunes going for much of the work day to avoid them.

However, there are small islands of hope in the suburban fringes of red hell. My church (same denomination as Obama's devil church) just celebrated the baptism of the 2nd child of a lesbian couple. We have several gay and lesbian couples that attend.

Our minister regularly expresses the need to accept all people regardless of race, income, sexual orientation, etc. I'm sure if they threw a few clips of him up on you-tube extolling these values and circulated them around Omaha there would be some crazies shouting for his tar and feathering. (He's a genteel Virginian that would be anyone's ideal of a scholarly grandfather type.)

I'm not sure if I believe in God, but it exposes my kids to a very open and accepting religious tradition (and prevents the crazies from seeing us as a good "get").
