Indiana Republican congressional candidate Tony Zirkle enjoys a sterling reputation as a man who will happily rant about "porn pimps" unprovoked, without the apparent aid of drugs or alcohol. This is also a man who once asked a reporter, "Is [desegregation] working? I don't know. You can't say there is no argument to the contrary. Yes, there have been many advances, but there are still many problems." You'll never guess where he spent April 20, the birthday of one very famous vegetarian watercolor painter! Yes, he spent Hitler's birthday talking with the American National Socialist Workers Party in Chicago. And somebody took a photo of him standing around with these fat retards with their arm bands....
And here I was hoping that April 20th would pass quietly and without the obligatory mention of Adolf Hitler. God, I can be SO naive sometimes....
I've discussed from time to time the Bush Administration's habit of frequently borrowing from Josef Goebbel's playbook. In this day and age, I don't think it's too much to expect that Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © and those whom he surrounds himself with would be able to conduct themselves in a manner that isn't reminiscent of Nationalist Socialist thuggery. Well, guess what? Yes, that train has long since left the station, with the legacies of Hermann Goering AND Josef Goebbels comfortably seated in first class.
As if all of that hasn't been disturbing enough, now we get Tony Zirkle, a Republican misanthrope/Congressional candidate in Indiana. Not only did Zirkle address a gathering of Nazis, he did so in front of a portrait of that renowned vegetarian artist, Adolf Hitler...IN FULL VIEW OF CAMERAS. Uh...what??? Methinks it mayhaps be time for a certain troglodyte to take care of those scabs on his knuckles.
SOUTH BEND - Tony Zirkle, Republican candidate for 2nd District congressman, said he is willing to talk to any group that invites him, and that's why he addressed a weekend gathering in Chicago of the American National Socialist Workers Party.
The occasion was a celebration of the 119th anniversary of the birth of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
At a news conference Monday afternoon, Zirkle said he agreed to address the group and talk about his experience as state's attorney. He also said he took the opportunity to preach the gospel and handed out commentaries on the life of Jesus.
Oh, well...my bad. I guess since he was thoughtful enough to preach the Gospel of a loving and compassionate God to a gaggle of knuckle-dragging, hatred-addled misanthropes, we sould probably give him a free pass, no? Hey, at least we know that Zirkle can speak their language, eh?
If you want to witness to people, if you want to share your message with people, you have to talk to them," said Zirkle. "By not taking a risk and going out there and addressing issues that your enemies can paint you as a racist or a bigot, then we're never going to address them."
OK, DUMB@$$, but here's where DUMB@$$ Zirkle managed to miss the clue train: YOU'RE RUNNING FOR CONGRESS, FOOL!. And guess what? SOME OF THE CONSTITUENTS YOU WANT TO REPRESENT ARE- GASP!!- JEWISH. SOME ARE EVEN- OH, THE HUMANITY!!, AFRICAN-AMERICAN AND NON-ARYAN.
Speaking to a herd of ignorant, pointy-headed Nazis is bad enough. Knowingly and willingly being photographed while doing so goes far beyond mere political tone-deafness and political suicide. It takes the term "self-immolation" to a whole new level. Then again, I think it's been amply demonstrated that Tony Zirkle and the Republican Party deserve one another.
