Finally, someone with the moral fortitude to call out Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader ©

MY NEW HERO #112: Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE)

Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee absolutely tore into President George W. Bush for his comments from Israel, which appeared to take a swipe at Obama. Bush said this morning, "Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement.".... An exasperated Biden skewered Bush over that in a conference call with reporters, calling the comments "pure politics," "blatant," "beneath the presidency," "truly disgraceful," "outrageous," "disturbing," "ridiculous hypocrisy" and "long-distance Swiftboating." He even said Bush "oughta get a life."

That a sitting President would take his partisan, fear-mongering attacks on Democrats overseas is bad enough. That Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © would do so during a speech to Israel's Knesset is both unconscionable and unforgivable...and yet how much of a hue and cry has "The Liberal Media" raised?

Go, ahead; I'll wait if you need some time to think....

If your answer was "none", well, I don't have a prize for you, but that doesn't mean you're not a winner. In fact, outside of MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann", the level of righteous anger wouldn't make the needle budge. Even in Congress, where you might be forgiven for thinking that there might be some concern about a lame-duck President interjecting himself into a domestic campaign from foreign shores, few have managed to roust themselves from their moral slumber.

Granted, Sen. Biden's unscripted and clearly unrehearsed response may have been a bit rough around the edges and highly undiplomatic, but how else does one reasonably respond to this sort of outrage? A President using diplo-speak to equate the election of a Democratic President with the inevitability of another terrorist attack? Calling those who disagree with his failed policies "appeasers"? Engaging in the same sort of fear-mongering rhetoric that has stifled reasoned political debate in this country for the past seven years? Frankly, ALL of us should be demanding the head of The Worst President EVER © on a platter. Lord knows if a Democratic President had engaged in the same sort of partisan idiocy, the weeping and gnashing of teeth emanating from the Right side of the fence would be heard from sea to shining sea...and not underservingly so.

Even given Biden somewhat less than diplomatic response, I have to give him kudos for his initial reaction being right on the money. Describing The Decider's © comments as "bullshit" pretty much sums it up in my estimation. If nothing else, Commander Codpiece © violated the old American political tradition of not conducting domestic policy debates from foreign shores. That his argument was made from the Knesset, the representative body of the nation that has arguably suffered more from terrorism than any other nation in the world, is despicable and absolutely unforgivable. Then again, what could we reasonably expect from a man who wouldn't recognize integrity (The courageous resolve to never admit a mistake or take any action that may infer a mistake was made) if it slapped him twice across the face and challenged him to a duel.

It's no wonder I'm finding myself losing the resolve to avoid having my own "Keith Olbermann moment".

NOW CAN WE IMPEACH THE LYING, MURDERING BASTARD?? Why must we wait until 1.20.09 to get our country back- you know, the one y'all gave away because you voted for this sorry excuse for a human being?
