Flying past the last rest stop on the Expressway to Hell

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday brought up the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama - drawing a furious reaction from the front-runner's camp.... "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

You know, it's a good thing that I promised that I was done ranting about Hillary Clinton, because after yesterday's invocation of the dark specter of assassination, she has shed what little humanity she had left. Thankfully for me, there are plenty of pundits out there willing to step into the breach- and a large and inviting one it is.

Rather than take an all too easy shot and run the risk of violating my promise to myself (and how much fun can beating a dead horse really be over the long haul?), I'd just like to ask one question: When do we lose the win at all costs, kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out tactics? Really, is one candidate so concerned with winning the Democratic nomination that she would willingly and knowingly tear the party asunder in so doing. Is a Pyrrhic victory better than none at all? And is the running the risk of a third Bush term in the White House REALLY something worthy of ignoring until the stark reality has been irrevocably forced upon us??

And to think that I once held this woman in the highest of esteem. Man, what a sorry excuse for a Democrat...not to mention a human being.....
