That's it; I'm done. Call me after the convention.

schroeder.jpgAfter months of venting my spleen over Sen. Hillary Clinton's "kill-'em-all-let-God-sort-'em-out" campaign strategy, I'm here to tell you that I'm done. After having accomplished little but ratcheting up my own righteous anger, I'm letting it go. With the delegate math being what it is, Sen. Clinton will have to win 71% of the remaining delegates in order to secure the Democratic nomination.

Memo to those of y'all who still haven't figured this one out: AIN'T. GONNA. HAPPEN.

Accordingly, I'm done with HRC. No matter how angry her smug, self-absorbed, maniacally-smiling countenance may grace my television screen, I'm through with her. This will be the last piece I post about HRC, because after this she no longer exists for me. She had her chances, and she blew them- every. last. one. of. them. No, the important thing for Democrats is to focus on burying John McCain. HRC can roast in Hell for all I care, and while there's a part of me that hopes she end up doing exactly that, I'm no longer to expend emotional capital on her. She's blown her political capital on anger, rancor, and extreme self-interest, and then some. She's destroyed her reputation, and she deserves to relegated to the ash heap of history. I'm merely making a conscious decision to cede the field to others ready, willing, and able to contribute their bile to the cause.

I want to focus on the future, and I'm going to start doing that by trying to do a better job of addressing the present. HRC is the past, and that's not going to change. I'm done with the past; I want to do what I can today to help create a better tomorrow. I want to help create a better world for our children and grandchildren. Obsessing over the past isn't going to make that happen, so I'm going to change what I can in order to focus on creating a better today and a better tomorrow.

I'm done with Hillary Clinton, and going forward she's dead to me. There are plenty of other folks out there ready, willilng, and beyond able to take up the slack when it comes to railing against HRC. I no longer feel the need to add to that. Barack Obama is going to be the nominee of the Democratic Party, and we have 5 1/2 months with which to bury John McCain and take back this country. THAT'S where the real action is.

Because it sure is a helluva more interesting than having a rational, reality-based debate was the previous entry in this blog.
