Could there possibly a more fitting tribute?

A tribute to our current president may be in the offing to be added to the already existing Jefferson Memorial, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Washington Monument, Reagan Airport and pretty much everything bearing the Kennedy name, in the form of the George W. Bush Sewage Plant. A group known as the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco is hoping to rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant after Bush once he leaves office. Their idea, which was conceived (appropriately as a testimony to young George) in a bar--would place a vote on the November ballot to offer "an appropriate honor for a truly unique president," the group told The New York Times. No one has yet suggested changing the name of Hooters to honor our last president.

It's always a challenge to find a fitting way to honor a President's service to his country under the best of circumstances. A library? A school? Perhaps a highway or a stadium? There are plenty of large inanimate objects that one could affix a President's name to in an effort to recognize and honor his (or her) service and sacrifice? But what do you do when a President has so thoroughly screwed the pooch during his time in office? What do you do when his greatest achievement was lying his way into an illegal war, and his tenure and legacy most readily associated with the young Americans who have returned from Iraq in flag-draped boxes? OK, so by all rights Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © should be doing time for war crimes, but we all know that's not going to happen (Two words you will never hear used in the same sentence: "Republican" and "accountability"). What's left, then, but to find a suitable and fitting tribute to a President who's been more war criminal and mass murderer than Chief Executive?

Well, how about a sewage treatment plant? It's (not so very) subtle, and it's full of $#!&. What could be more appropriate? What, like you're going to seriously suggest naming an airport after this sorry excuse for a human being President?? I don't think so....
