If nominated...ah, who cares??

It's not often that I find myself truly inspired...especially by a politician. I gotta tell you, though, Cynthia McKinney's the Green Party's nominee for President...and if she can run for President, ANYONE ought to be able to, right?

It's with great pride, then, that I'm announcing this morning that I've been (self-)selected as the Presidential candidate for the Ennui Party. I'd like to say the the Party held it's nominating convention over the weekend, but no one could be bothered to rent a ballroom- or even find a Jack-in-the-Box willing to put up with us for 20 minutes. Frankly, no one cared enough to figure out how to get a quorum into one room, so I took upon myself to nominate myself...and since no one could be bothered to object...well, here I am. And my first executive decree would be to make afternoon naps mandatory. Washington just seems so...cranky. Either folks aren't getting enough sleep...or enough sex (hey, I can relate). Then again, the end result's about the same....

I'd campaign, but that really just seems like a lotta damn work, knowwhutimean?? (Besides, I ran for Governor of Texas in 2002 with no campaign budget and still managed to get something like 11 votes. My campaign slogan: DOING WHAT LITTLE I CAN WITH WHAT LITTLE I'VE GOT.) And I'd love to tell you about the Ennui Party's platform, but how hard is it to understand "Ah, (&^% it....?

Uh, so when do I take the oath of office. Before or after my nap??
