Because sometimes, karma really IS a b---h...not that Lars Larson is an improvment

In the ongoing fallout from his screed against children with autism, right-wing radio host Michael Savage has been kicked off Los Angeles' KGIL and will be replaced by conservative talker Lars Larson, according to a Larson press release. LA is the second largest radio market in the country. Already, radio stations in Ohio, Mississippi, and Virginia have dropped Savage, and a host of advertisers have done the same.

Every now and again, something happens that almost manages to restore my long-since dissipated faith in humanity. Almost. The story of Michael Savage's tribulations is one that's really bringing a smiling to my face. I'm normally not one to engage in gratuitious displays of Schadenfreude, but there's nothing gratuitous about this celebration. Let's face it; if you crack a dictionary to look for the definition of "asshole", you'll find a picture of Michael Savage in the definition. When you career is built on ignorance, bombast, and sheer, unadulterated hatefulness, you can't claim to be surprised when reasonable people begin tapdancing on the grave of your sorry excuse for a career.

If there is a Hell, I have to believe that Michael Savage has a reserved parking spot waiting for him. And there are many like myself just hoping we'll live long enough to be able to piss on his grave. What I cannot begin to understand is why and how Savage has been given a well-paying platform from which to spew his hatred and ignorance. Good and decent people should simply refuse to be a party to his brand of divisiveness. That many finally are gives me hope, but there are still far too many out there who hang on his every utterance as if it was the Word of God. Then again, you will never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American Sheeple.

What a (&^%$#@ troll....
