WHEREAS, in his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed abuses of power.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that President George W. Bush has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and Commander in Chief, and subversive of constitutional government, to the prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States and that he be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors.
I believe that every now and then we're called to a cause larger than ourselves, when we must look at what's happening around us and determine if this is really the America we want...or decide that we want and deserve something better. Are we really willing to settle for an America that marginalizes and impoverishes the majority while enriching a powerful, well-connected, and thoroughly self-absorbed minority? Are we really OK with an endless, senseless war that continues shipping Americans home in flag-draped boxes? Have we really resigned ourselves to criminal incompetence...the likes of which this country has never seen?
I still believe that there are good, decent, and honest Americans out there who refuse to accept the $#!% we've been served for the past eight years. Yes, Our Glorious and Benevolent Leader © will be out the door in a little over five months. Does that mean that it's too late to hold him accountable for the criminal ineptitude, the lies, the propaganda, and the genocide that has characterized his Reign of Error © ? Not from where I sit.
Even after all this time, I still harbor a dream of seeing The Worst President EVER © wearing an orange prison jumpsuit.
