Since when does a candidate's choice of vacation spots have anything to do with anything??

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Cokie Roberts

Off the top of my head, I can think of no better illustration of this campaign season's being mired in the politics of stupidity than Cokie Roberts' foray into criticizing Barack Obama's choice of vacation spots. I can understand legitimate dissection and criticism of a candidate's policies and positions on issues. Those things should be fair game, because they actually could have a material impact on this country's political future. When last I checked, though, Hawaii is still one of the 50 states...so where does Cokie (&^%$#@ Roberts get off opining that vacation in Hawaii is vacating in "some sort of foreign exotic place." As if that wasn't bad enough, she goes on to say that "he should be in Myrtle Beach"...never mind the fact that Obama's grandmother lives in Hawaii and that he went to high school in Hawaii. Isn't vacationing with family as American as making sure your tires are properly inflated? And...HELLO!!...wasn't Obama born in Hawaii??

('Course, to her everlasting credit, Roberts knows that the American Sheeple are dependent upon her to advise them when a Presidential candidate- particularly a Democrat- is guilty of blatant vacation elitism.)

The truly sad aspect of this is that Roberts, a normally intelligent and occasionally reasonable and erudite observer of the American political scene, has apparently been hijacked by aliens...who have replaced her brains with hominy grits.

Oh...and this just in: Hawaiians are patriotic Americans, too. Who knew? Apparently, not Cokie Roberts.

Yeah, I know...WHAT LIBERAL MEDIA??
