Please...think about the children

I watched most of the Texans-Bengals game on Sunday afternoon, and while it was nice to watch Houston win it's third straight game for the first time in franchise history, there was a disturbing undertone to the victory that I just can't let slide. Yes, I'm talking about the scourge that is...the touchdown dance.

This appeal is directed at Texans' wideouts David Anderson and Kevin Walter, both of whom subjected us to some of the worst, most talent-less end zone dances of the modern era. No, there was no overt sexuality or suggestive undertones to these dances. That sort of thing probably would have been a serious upgrade. No, these dances- Anderson's in particular- were...well, I'm not really quite sure exactly what they were. Slow-motion epileptic seizures? Adverse reaction to medication? Possession by a rhythmically-impaired demonic presence?

Please, for the sake of all that's good and right and holy, can the NFL PLEASE put a stop to this sorry excuse for "dancing"? Watching a skinny wide receiver pretending he's Elvis Presley can be a truly frightening thing to behold...especially when you consider that children were watching, some of whom might actually think that this sort of thing is something worthy of emulation.

Memo to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: please, think about the children...and other impressionable segments of the American sheeple. Today, David Anderson and Kevin Walter think they can dance. Tomorrow, it may be our sons and/or our daughters swiveling their hips as if they're competing on Dancing With The Stars. Is this really the sort of thing we want for our children??
