Admitting you're an @$$hole is the first step...or, it can't be easy to admit that you're irrelevant

You have to give Rush Limbaugh a perverse kind of credit. At least when he is demonizing Barack Obama, fabricating Obama policies, blaming Obama for single-handedly causing the recession and the stock market crash, he doesn't pretend to be fair. Opening his first post-election rant against the president-elect, Limbaugh launched in with a certain relish. "The game," he told his radio listeners, "has begun.".... But many on the losing end of last week's election want to hold on to their anger. And there are those in the media...only too ready to feed that animus, along with their own ratings.... "The Obama recession is in full swing, ladies and gentlemen," Limbaugh told his radio audience of 15 million to 20 million on Thursday. "Stocks are dying, which is a precursor of things to come. This is an Obama recession. Might turn into a depression."

Here we are, still more than 70 days away from Inauguration Day, and already Barack Obama is being blamed for the problems fostered by the current Administration. Never mind that since he's not yet in office, there's no way he can truthfully be he to be responsible, but then again the truth (or lack of same) has never stopped ignorant trolls like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, or Sean Hannity from pumping up Right-wing anger in their never-ending efforts to pump up their ratings. Truth (and reality) is for Libruls and losers- two qualities that Limbaugh and his ilk would NEVER attribute to themselves.

I can understand the anger on the Far Right. After all, they've just been sentenced to at least four years of wandering in the ideological wilderness, their pathetic bleatings reduced to so much irrelevant white noise. After effectively being cocks of the walk for the past eight years, they woke up Wednesday morning to a new world...one not very promising to contemplate, I'm sure.

The problem with Right-wing blowhards like Limbaugh is that they've never been about constructive dialogue. They've never been about building this country up; indeed, their careers are about tearing things down. If you handed them a hammer, they'd flip it around and start ripping out drywall with the claw end. They're good at kibbitizing, at ridiculing and making fun of those they don't agree with. What you'll seldom, if ever, hear from them are ideas for how to make this country a better place. It's SO much easier to tear things down, no?

As far as I'm concerned, Limbaugh and his ilk can wander in the wilderness and rail at the fates, along with their legion of drooling sycophants. It's not like they have anything to contribute, anyway. There's work to be done, y'all; you can either get on the bus...or walk. Your call. I really don't give a damn either way. After eight years of Right-wing malfeasance, greed, and corruption, you'd think that these folks would be eager to help put things right. The problem, though, is that it's never been about building- unless it's their own egos being discussed. Most Right-wing talking heads no longer know nor care how to make a positive contribution. It's SO much easier throw rhetorical bombs from their lofty perch; that way, when things go wrong you can laugh, point, and cluck disapprovingly.

Enjoy your irrelevance, y'all...and while you're at it, take Fox News Channel with you, willya? Thanks...and don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out....
