And you wonder why public education in Texas is so completely FUBAR??

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

Cynthia Noland Dunbar

Can we truly even imagine an America under an Obama Administration? I sincerely believe that an Obama Administration would ultimately mean one thing the end of America as we know her. First, I cannot understand how we can potentially elect a man who most likely has violated the Constitution in his very attempt to serve as Commander and Chief. No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section I.... If Obama were a natural born citizen who never lost his citizenship through his adoption while living in Indonesia, then why does he obstinately refuse to present valid documentation? The fact that a Federal Court Judge did nothing should not surprise any of us. After all, we know all too well the attack this great Country undergoes on a daily basis from our own militant leftist Judicial Branch. Can you imagine how much worse this will get with Obama appointees?

Welcome to Texas, y'all...where this sort of wingnuttery is not just the norm, not just celebrated...no, it's elevated to important policy-making positions. In this case, Ms. Dunbar is a member of the Texas Board of Edumication. As a member of the Jesus-freak wing of the Texas Republican Party, Dunbar is firmly convinced that her role- indeed, her responsibility- is to ensure that Texas children are not only edumicated, nay, they must be indoctrinated with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The separation of Church and State is but a mere inconvenience to be brushed aside in the righteous crusade to produce reliable, lock-step young Christians who will bravely indoctrinate future generations for Jesus.

Sadly, deriding Dunbar for that sort of anti-American, anti-Constitutional lunacy is for another day. No, my task today is to take Ms. DUMB@$$ Dunbar to task for her argument that Barack Obama isn't even an American citizen, and therefore unqualified to be President. (Never mind the fact that John McCain was born in Panama, NOT on American soil, which technically disqualifies him. THAT'S different, of course.)

I don't begrudge Dunbar her intolerant theology or her beliefs that being a Christian somehow makes her a superior human being. Her beliefs, however disgusting and disturbing, are guaranteed her by the Constitution (yes, that same one she seeks to subvert to the Bible). I may detest her beliefs, but I will fight to the death to protect her right to hold them. Would that I could expect the same from her. No, my problem with Dunbar is her highly offensive and erroneous view that Obama is not an American citizen. Given that this has been debunked early and often, you'd think that people like Dunbar would move on to different, although probably equally offensive, arguments.

Then again, Ms. Dunbar probably shouldn't be held solely responsible for her ignorance and fear-mongering. She was, after all, edumicated at Regent University, the same fine institution of Christian wingnuttery that gave us Monica Goodling.

You know, I really don't mind the fact that people like Cynthia Dunbar don't think like I do. Frankly, this would be a pretty boring world if everyone's thought processes mirrored my own...but is it too much to expect that those who hold differing opinions could at least discuss and justify their arguments rationally and intelligently? Must ignorance, fear-mongering, and religious intolerance always be part of the equation?

Jesus, save me from your followers...PLEASE....

WE DESERVE BETTER.
