Actually, God does not okay divorce for adultery, or anything else for that matter. Moses set up that law for divorce. Anyone in an abusive relationship needs to get out of it, by separation, not divorce. Let the abuser file for divorce, and your conscience will be clear before God. The funny thing about this is that I've heard of lots of "married" gay couples getting divorced and having custody battles over any children (by artificial insemination or adoption) involved in the "marriage." Another reason not to allow gay couples to adopt children, or have children by artificial insemination, for that matter. No offense intended to anyone living in California, but that state gets crazier by the day
