So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it.
This will be the last time you will ever read anything about Rush Limbaugh in this space. Personally, I'm sick of this sorry excuse for a human being. Before I consign him to the irrelevance he so richly deserves, this latest insult to humanity should not go unchallenged. I don't expect all Americans to embrace Barack Obama; there's still a significant portion of the population (et tu, Oklahoma?) who thinks John McCain got jobbed. Even so, I don't think it's a stretch to say that most Americans want President Obama to succeed. Given the current mess we find ourselves in, most lucid Americans recognize that if Obama succeeds, we all succeed. Then again, I can't imagine a circumstance in which I'd use "Rush Limbaugh" and "lucid" in the same sentence. The fact that Limbaugh is openly rooting for Obama to fail only serves to illustrate how little he cares for ANYTHING besides his own narrow self-interest and prejudice. Jeebus H. Koresh, y'all...what a (&^%$#@ moron.
I understand (because I'm the one who's said it repeatedly) the free speech can be and often is offensive, mean-spirited speech. That doesn't mean that good and decent people have to take offensive and mean-spirited lying down. Rush Limbaugh is an asshole of the worst sort- a sorry excuse for a man so devoted to his self-perceived brilliance and moral superiority that his devotion to country and the greater good is a distant, almost imperceptible second. He's a miserable human being who deserves to be marginalized, ignored, and treated like the pariah he is.
