No, I'm not an @$$hole, but you might not know it at times

"The young naked man approached her with this poodle, and she immediately realized something peculiar"

Man, you know you're having a bad day when....

I'm in no frame of mind to be writing this morning...this will happen when your Friday night sucks like mine did, but I'm back at the keyboard to keep myself from feeling sorry for myself. You might call it recreational therapy.

Over the past eight years of doing this, I've swung to a number of different extremes in various attempts to keep myself engaged. Sometimes, become a bit more personal in my writing has just been an attempt to give my readers a peek into the jungle that passes for my psyche. I get bored with politics, so I try something different. When that starts to wear on me, I usually return to politics, because I tend to write about things that aggravate or baffle me. Recently, I've gotten a bit more personal as I've attempted to sort some things out. I suppose I've wanted to let y'all see that I'm more than merely just another opinionated, wooly-headed Librul with a bad attitude who spends his morning at his keyboard in his underwear while nursing yet another cup of coffee. I've begun to realize, though, that while this sort of sharing can be somewhat therapeutic, I'm less than comfortable with the direction this self-revelation is heading. Perhaps it's time to go back to being tall, dark, and mysterious....

If this sounds as if I'm working this out as I'm writing this...well, it's because I am. What I do know is that there's going to be less ruminating on the ups and downs of my life, because...well, who really wants to know that stuff, anyway? I just don't want to feel as if I'm bordering on becoming pathetic. Like anyone else, I've got some things to work out. My opinion as to whether I'm succeeding at that depends on when you catch me...and let's just say that the cycle is at low ebb right about now. Ah, but life goes on...if only because it certainly beats the heck out of the alternative, no?

So, I'm going to probably spend my weekend wondering about...well, life, the universe, and pretty much everything really. Not that I'm going to find any answers....

Tune in tomorrow when we return to our regularly scheduled insanity (and inanity).
