STOCKTON, CA - The Stockton man who wants to put a militia on the streets if police layoffs happen, said he's got 270 people signed on to help.... "They're going to have rifles, shotguns, pistols--whatever they get their hands on," said 66-year-old Alan Pettet. "We're not going to go out looking for trouble, but the first person who fires on us, will get a lot of return fire going is way.".... Pettet said a militia is needed if the City of Stockton follows through with police layoffs that could come as early as this summer.... "If they don't lay off police, there won't be a militia," Pettet said. "But with the first person laid off July 1st, 270 men will be out on the street."
So what happens when the realities of shrinking revenues hit local governments hard? Well, like most American families, local government find themselves having to make hard choice- trimming the mayor's porn budget, cutting back on donuts for the police department, or, in the case of bucolic Stockton, CA, cutting police officers. Thank GOD for all the good, God-fearing, faithfully Conservative, heavily armed White males willing to step up and protect Stockton from...well, no one knows quite what, really? Just rest assured that when criminals decide to hit the streets of Stockton, they'll be met by a fusillade of small-arms fire...most of which probably won't come close to hitting their intended target.
Yeah, I'd think that this is EXACTLY what Stockton needs- a buttload of angry, untrained White men willing to play judge, jury, AND executioner in the name of protecting all that's good, right, and Holy about this great nation. How long do you think it would be before the term "friendly fire" is introduced into the local vernacular? Say, about 20 minutes? If that??
Then again, who needs due process when the Stockton Militia is on the job? If you're a criminal, and you decide to ply your trade in Stockton, you'd best be prepared to be prying buckshot out of your @$$. You've been warned....
'Course, it's a WHOLE lot easier to become a vigilante. Real police officers in Stockton undergo something like 800 hours of training prior to hitting the streets. All the frustrated, well-fed White men need for training is a couple of cheeseburgers and a few beers. Gotta like those odds, eh??
Man, how long before heavily arm men with itchy trigger fingers start patrolling the streets of Malibu??
