Ah, so this is what they mean by "Pro-Life"

George Tiller, a Wichita doctor who was one of the few doctors in the nation to perform late-term abortions, was shot to death on Sunday as he attended church, city officials in Wichita said. Dr. Tiller, who had performed abortions since the 1970s, had long been a lightning rod for controversy over the issue of abortion, particularly in Kansas, where abortion opponents regularly protested outside his clinic and sometimes his home and church. In 1993, he was shot in both arms by an abortion opponent but recovered. He had also been the subject of many efforts at prosecution, including a citizen-initiated grand jury investigation. In the latest such effort, in March, Dr. Tiller was acquitted of charges that he had performed late-term abortions that violated state law. The shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. (Central time) at Reformation Lutheran Church on the city's East Side, Dr. Tiller's regular church. Wichita police said that the shots were fired from a handgun in the church lobby during the morning service.

I never cease to be amazed at the power of God's love...when it's backed up by a handgun wielded by one of his zealous, wacked-out devotees. To my way of thinking, there's no greater irony, and no more telling measure of the Christian Right's epic hypocrisy, than the murder of Dr. George Tiller. In church. On a Sunday morning. That someone could see their way clear to murdering a doctor for the services he provided to women should be anathema. Sadly, while I'll eagerly await the swift and unequivocal condemnation of Tiller's cold-blooded murder from people like Randall Terry, I imagine I'd best not be holding my breath.

There are sickos out there, like Fred Phelps and his merry band of inbred wackjobs, who will celebrate this as some sort of blessing from God. Verily, the Lord has passed judgement on the Evil Killer of Precious Babies...and it was good. Blessed be the hand that did the Lord's work- for he is prized among men...or some such nonsense. WTF....

There are many "Christians" out there who will celebrate Tiller's murder as the liquidation of one who sins in the eyes of the Lord so that the many of the righteous and innocent will survive. How could cold-blooded murder POSSIBLY serve as the Lord's work? How does committing that murder in a church dedicated to the murder of the same Lord do anything but expose the hypocrisy of the Christian Right?

I have a stake in this, in that I have a brother and sister-in-law who are quite probably celebrating Tiller's murder as a good thing in the eyes of their Lord...and that makes me absolutely as sick as it makes me angry. If the only way you can see your way clear is either the commission or the celebration of murder committed in the service you your bastardized version of God, y'all need some serious help. If your God is a mean-spirited, vindictive bastard...well, then you have my sympathy, or you must really lead a miserably unhappy and unfulfilled existence. Either that, or you've manage to self-hypnotize your way into thinking that you've seen the Light. I believe in Satan about as much as I believe in God, but y'all certainly aren't serving God...not that you're about to take my word for it.

If you seriously think that the murder of George Tiller has anything at all to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ, then you clearly know nothing about the true meaning of those teachings. You- and those who support and enable you- really ought to go straight to Hell. Do not pass "go". Do not collect 200 shekels. Go directly to Hell. NOW. Because, frankly, you're about as much of a Christian as I am...and on a scale of 1-100, I'm about a -13. If y'all are Christians, then I'm the freakin' Queen of England.

(&^%$#@ hypocrites....
