Fort Worth- Researchers are trying and unusual approach to combat fire ants- parasitic flies that turn the insects into zombies. The phorid flies "dive-bomb" the fire ants and lay eggs. The maggot that hatches inside the ant eats away at the brain. Later, the ant starts wandering for about two weeks until its head falls off and it dies.
