US out of Texas...NOW!!!

Texas Constructs U.S. Border Wall To Keep Out Unwanted Americans

WICHITA FALLS, TX--Calling it an essential step toward securing the Texas border and protecting his people's way of life, Gov. Rick Perry announced Tuesday the completion of a 1,953-mile wall designed to keep out millions of unwanted Americans. According to Perry, the 75-foot-high barricade running along the northern boundary is the culmination of more than 160 years of escalating tensions between Texas and the United States.... Though a protective barrier has been under consideration for decades, the Texas Legislature voted unanimously to begin construction on the project immediately following the 2008 presidential election.... "As governor, it is my responsibility to do whatever's necessary to maintain the territorial integrity of Texas," Perry told reporters during a press conference held inside a sniper tower overlooking Oklahoma. "If you are a Texas citizen, you shouldn't have to worry about some American coming in here, using your goods and services, and taking away your job.".... "Let the record show I have nothing personal against Americans," Perry added. "I just think they should stay in America, where they belong."

Well, you just had to know it was a matter of time, right? How long could good, God-fearing Texans be expected to suffer under the jackbooted thuggery of the Obama Administration? How long could brave Christian patriots be expected to live under the yoke of a Liberal Democrat and (GASP!!!!) a black man? How long must the citizens of the proud Great State of Texas suffer under the heavy hand of officially sanctioned oppression? It's time for all y'all who love Texas to stand up...and leave! And while you're at it, take Oklahoma with you; y'all deserve one another.

OK, so the article's from The Onion. It's parody; I get that. Really, though...how many Texans do you think would be perfectly happy if this sort of wall was actually built? Of course, just because they put up a wall doesn't mean that the US would have any right to hold back on all of the financial support and services that flow into Texas from the federal treasury. Now, if they built a moat and stock with alligators and prianha....

That a sitting Governor could openly, if somewhat obliquely, advocate what could reasonably be described as treason is disturbing enough. That it reveals the rank hypocrisy of the Texas GOP and the clueless duplicity of so many Texans just goes to show you that. though it may look good in the brochure, Intellectualism isn't a Texas tourist attraction (apologies to Sheryl Crow).

Rick Perry and his drooling sycophants need to understand that advocating secession (or- let's just call it what it is- treason) isn't the cure-all they seem to think it is. When you consider what Texas receives from the federal government (for those of us unfortunate to be in Texas after Hurricane Ike, think FEMA), this is another case of Republicans opening their mouths prior to engaging their brains.

Wanna secede? Go right ahead...and take Oklahoma with you. Y'all really do deserve one another.
