So a single payer system will cover my lobotomy, then?

THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

(apologies to Keith Olbermann)

In their never-ending search for something to vent their prodigious outrage on, Conservatives have now seized on their latest target- "any service deemed medically necessary or medically appropriate.". Yes, America, you may not realize this, but health care reform means YOU'LL BE FORCED TO PAY FOR YOU NEIGHBOR'S GENDER REASSIGNMENT TREATMENT! Oh, the humanity! Oh, the immorality!! Next exit- SODOM AND GOMORRAH!! Do not pass "Go". Do not collect $200. Go straight to Hell.

Of course, this sort of outrage seems somewhat odd coming as it does from the same quarter that's aghast at the idea of putting a bureaucrat between you and your doctor. Conservatives are quite happy to put a bureaucrat there if if serves their purpose. This reminds me of the Conservative argument against "judicial activism". It's all fun and game until someone makes a decision you don't like- THEN it's time to loose the dogs of righteous anger as you erupt in paroxysms of outsized indignation and rage.

Remember -if you (a bleeding heart Librul weenie tree-hugger) engage in an extramarital affair, it's an egregious display of unparalleled immorality and personal failure. If I (a good, God-fearing American patriot and a Conservative) schtupp my neighbor's wife...well, a man has needs, knowhutimean??

What is it about Conservatives that enables them to look past the abject hypocrisy of their demands? What qualifies them (besides a hyper-developed sense of moral superiority) to make medical decisions? If they object to the idea of a bureaucrat being placed between patients and doctors, how is it that they're OK with placing themselves in the same position? Doctors needing government approval for treatment options is not a good thing, but how is the idea of Conservatives making treatment decisions on moral grounds any better? Barber, the Director of Cultural Affairs with both Liberty Counsel and Liberty Alliance Action, is just another example of a Right-wing hypocrite wanting to have it both ways. As long as they're the ones making the decisions, it's all good. Once people who don't think as they do begin making decisions...well, you can be certain that righteous indignation isn't far behind.

Memo to Matt Barber and those who think like him: y'all had your chance. You ruled the sandbox for eight years. Your ineptitude, self-interest, and corruption are the biggest reasons why this country is in the mess it's currently in. I really think it's time to just shut up and let Democrats have a shot at cleaning up the mess you left behind. After taking a collective dump on Americans for eight years, don't you think you've done enough damage? Don't you think it's time you woke up and smelled the cat litter? Or are you really so blinded your self-professed brilliance that you've long since lost anything resembling a grip on reality?

WE DESERVE BETTER.
