Joshua S. Treviño, a former speechwriter for the Bush administration and a co-founder of RedState.com, appeared to endorse racial profiling in border control on Monday. Trevino wrote on Twitter, "Dear Border Patrol: my red hair and pale skin IS my passport, bureaucrats."
Hmm...amazing isn't it? Far too many Right-wingers have convinced themselves that acts of terrorism are the province of swarthy Muslims with bushy beards and wild eyes. Islam = Terrorism. Period. End of story. Apparently, people like Timothy McVeigh, Ted Kaczynski, and Scott Roeder don't meet the "official" definition of "terrorist"...perhaps because they're good, God-fearing White Folks? Or just plain nuts?
Then again, White Christians who engage in random, senseless acts of political violence aren't "terrorists". No, they're merely frustrated, oppressed, and attempting to reassert the rightful place of White People on the political food chain...like they've ever been anywhere else but on top. It's not about intolerance, fear, or hatred. It's about trying to keep America safe from those Godless, homosexual Libruls who would force our children to engage in same-sex marriages and foreswear the teachings of Jesus Christ. Like these zealots have ANY idea of the true meaning of Christ's teachings....
Red hair and pale skin is apropos of nothing. After all, if memory serves, isn't the Irish Republican Army classified as a terrorist organization by the British Government? And if the Brits are watching a group, you can surmise that our government isn't far behind, eh? I'd be willing to hazard a guess that a good portion of the IRA could be described as having...oh, I don't know...red hair and pale skin?
Best be careful there, Mr. (Do I LOOK like a terrorist?) Treviño...your racism (and your vacancy) is showing.
