Having apparently solved all other problems, Republicans begin eating their young

For years I have struggled to accept the fact that the way I look in a tank top comes off more "sexual" than a flat-chested woman. And once again I was reassured by the media that someone with my cup size should always be covered up. Or what, I'll be seen as a slut? It's pathetic we can come so far in so many ways, but when Rep. Aaron Schock or Rep. Jeff Flake post pictures of themselves without their suits on--and their shirts, for that matter--they are proclaimed "hotties." But put me in a tank top and I am suddenly an embarrassment to the Republican Party and women everywhere. The double standard is infuriating.

This is just about the silliest thing I've run across since whatever self-absorbed lunacy that Glenn Beck last spit up on Fox Noise Channel. Meghan McCain, fortunate to be an attractive woman, posts a picture on da Interweb that reveals...GASP!!...bounteous boobage. So the woman has cleavage. Big deal. It's not as if she posted a pictorial spread of hearing inserting a cucumber into various orifices, right? My God, y'all...there's nary a nipple to be found. Now, because she's apparently seen by Republicans as some vision of Virtuous American Womanhood, McCain has found herself in a position where she feels compelled to defend herself over what clearly was a purely innocent and playful gesture. How is this picture anything resemblilng slutty? If she'd posed in flagrante delicto with the Washington Redskins defensive backfield...well, then y'all might have something to get all self-righteous and weak in the knees over. If McCain's self-portrait is offensive, then I'm the Queen of England. Jeebus, people...get over yourselves already.

'Course, I might be just a wee bit biased. Being a pretty typical guy, I like boobs. Quite a lot, actually. Usually, I prefer boobs to be with arms reach and devoid of any inconvenient fabric. Meghan McCain did nothing of the sort...and yet she's being treated by some as if she took on every Republican male Senate intern and was still looking for more. WTF?

If anything, McCain is guilty of having curves and being comfortable with that reality. Real women have curves...and some of us like it that way. Being comfortable with her body is hardly a crime, nor is posting a self-portrait that makes that pride very clear. Given the number of girls and women who struggle with maintaining a positive body image, you'd think we'd all be able to celebrate a woman who's clearly OK with the way she looks.

The problem here is not that Meghan McCain revealed too much or that she's being "slutty'. No, the problem is that far too many Conservative Republicans take themselves and their narrow, intolerant morality WAY too seriously. If the idea of an attractive woman posting a picture like this is enough to fry your synapses...well, y'all might want to consider seeking professional help. Seriously. This hypocrisy is beyond silly.
