The sexiest thing a man can do is love women for who they are, for their crow's feet and bad coffee and tears.
It seems a very simple question, really. What is sexy? Think about it, though, and suddenly it's not nearly so simple. Being a guy, I constantly discover that the things I think are sexy seem that way only in my mind. Trying to sort my way through a relationship, I'm constantly surprised by the things that a person of the opposite sex finds sexy.
So what is sexy? Well, how 'bout I left Erin tell you...'cuz she seems to have a handle on it. Reading her piece left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling, as if I was inspired to try and create some of that in my own life and relationship. Being "sexy" doesn't mean being rich or powerful or driving a fancy car. Perhaps it really is about the little things- being attentive, being real, not necessarily having what you want but wanting what you have...and showing it. Perhaps it really is as simple as just really, fully, and completely being with the person you're with and being real, vulnerable and honest with your emotions. Perhaps it really is about loving and appreciating the person you're with for being wonderful, desirable, and perfect just the way she is.
Perhaps sexy really is more internal than external. Man, you think that someone like myself would have learned that long ago. Here I am rolling headlong into middle age, and this seems to be yet another lesson I'm finally learning. Better late than never, eh?
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to use my day off work to be sexy with someone who will appreciate it. It's going to be a good day.... ;-)
